Again we see politics to the max. Lks and dap see tanda putera as a racial movie. Zahid sees new village as promoting communism. And I think none have seen the movie.
Both bn and pr are wretching up political crescendo unnecessarily. Lets see how the politics work. Lks and dap made a furore about a movie which they haven’t seen. Its supposedly has pro Malay inclination historical point of view and thus DAP objecting it. Najib in order to appease the Chinese postponed it. Now a new movie which purports to support communism aka with Chinese inclinations are being allowed to play. Should it be allowed to continue? Zahid played politics coz its double standard to delay one but not the other. And lks also now i expect has to play politics bcoz its again a case against the Chinese. Man when will this end? Another case of racial polarization?
In the first place we should have allowed tanda putera to be screened. Lks and dap were wrong in objecting it and bn was wrong to delay it. lks objection was not reasonable and played politics. Its also against their clarion call for freedom of expression. Thus for this “new village” it too should be screened and wrong for Zahid to delay it. Lks should be man enough to admit in the first place he’s wrong to ask for a ban of it.
But I don’t see it happening. We again will see it between Malay and Chinese fault line. Our politicians will then deepen our prejudices hatred and schism. Man sooner or later we’ll short our fuse and everything becomes haywire.
Ps: please note if the facts reveal in the future its a movie supportive of the communism regime at that time, I may change my views on the movie. Its a wrong value. I believe delving deeper into our dark history of our emergencies do not benefit the DAP but as overall its probably a good historical lessons for our younger generations. The historical perspective has a British worldview and thus there may be more acceptance of the facts.
